St Clare’s is a co-educational sixth-form college for day and boarding students in beautiful north Oxford. They offer the Pre-IB course and IB Diploma. The atmosphere is informal and friendly, with an emphasis on personal responsibility and a strong commitment to your studies. We put our success down to a combination of factors:

Programma

Average class size is 9 students

30 hours of classroom lessons Monday to Friday

55 minutes/ 6 subjects ( 3 standard levels and 3 higher levels) plus core elements TOK, CAS, and EE

The school obtained an excellent set of IB results, which reflects the outstanding work of students and staff.

  • IB achieved a 100% pass rate.
  • An excellent set of IB results with an overall average points score of 39 compared to a world average of 33 points. 39 points are considered to be equivalent to at least A*, A, A at A-level combined with a top grade in the EPQ
  • 6 of the students achieved the perfect score of 45 points, placing them in the top 1% of students globally
  • 47% of students scored 40 points or over (equivalent to at least A*, A*, A at A-level)
  • IB leavers have secured places at top universities across the globe including the University of Cambridge, London School of Economics, Imperial College London, and The University of Edinburgh in the UK; the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), University of California, Berkeley, Tufts University and Scripps Liberal Arts College in the USA and Leiden University and Bocconi University in Europe.

Attività ed Escursioni

The study program includes enriching experiences outside the classroom.They offer an extensive range of extra-curricular activities which promote personal growth in a stimulating and informative way. These include team sports, study visits, and excursions. CAS experiences (Pre-IB and IB study program only) as well as Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards (Pre-IB and IB study program only). Many students comment how they value the range of opportunities available to them.

Study visits and excursions

Field trips have an educational, cultural, environmental, sports, or social focus. In previous years students have taken part in Biology, Environmental Systems, and Societies, History, and Languages study visits in both the UK and beyond.

It takes just one hour by bus or train to get to London and once you have tried the Tube you can reach anywhere in the city fairly easily.

There are lots on offer in the capital city including a diverse selection of restaurants, theatre shows, and local markets. And the city is not short of high streets and designer shops at places like Brent Cross, Westfield, Harrods in Knightsbridge, Hamleys toys on Regent Street, and Oxford Street.

Sport

At different times of the year, if you like sport, you can use the wonderful facilities at the nearby gym, compete for a college team, or join a club in the city:
