Established in 1970, Springwood School places a strong emphasis on college preparation. It offers several AP courses and a competitive athletics program. The 46-acre campus houses interactive classrooms with Wi-Fi, on-campus housing, a fine arts center, a media center, and innovative computer labs. Students have access to various recently renovated athletic facilities including a gymnasium, a workout/weight room, a football stadium, basketball courts, tennis courts, softball, and baseball diamonds. Students can join 10 sports teams including golf, baseball, tennis, and football. Two former international students played on the US Women’s Golf Team, with one going on to tour with the Ladies Pro Golf Association.
Students can choose from enriching electives such as Graphic Design, Theater, and Band. Springwood School has received the AISA Blue Ribbon School Designation 7 times in a row (2012-2018) and won the ISA High School Scholar’s Bowl State Championships five years in a row (2012-2017). Springwood also finished as a runner-up in the AISA President’s Award competition. Springwood School’s on-campus, gated dormitories house two students per room and offer direct access to the main school building as well as indoor and outdoor communal spaces. A new International House was recently opened in Fall 2018.
