Overview

Victoria’s Sooke School District (No. 62) serves the Greater Victoria Westshore communities of Colwood, Langford, the Highlands, and Bear Mountain as well as the seaside community of Sooke. The district is one of the fastest-growing school districts in the province.
The standard of education is commonly recognized as one of the highest in the world. Sooke Schools offer students a variety of academic and elective courses to meet their individual needs and interests. Students interested in an academically rigorous program can choose from Advanced Placement (AP) and pre-AP courses where they have the opportunity to earn credit towards university studies, or dual-credit university-level courses offered right at their high school.

Sooke Schools offer a comprehensive curriculum that includes academic and elective courses. Math, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Environmental Studies, English Literature, Social Studies, History, Geography, and a choice of foreign languages including French, Spanish, and Japanese are standard academic courses.
