Burnaby offers international students the opportunity to study alongside local Canadian students in its elementary and high schools. Most international students come to graduate with a Dogwood Diploma, their entry to top universities in Canada and North America. They also offer a short-term Canadian high school experience program of 5 or 10 months.
Burnaby School District is proud of its strength in academic programming and achievements. It has one of the largest Advanced Placement (AP) programs in Canada and also offers the prestigious AP Capstone Diploma. The Visual and Performing Arts program in Burnaby is the most diverse in British Columbia. Burnaby students excel in sports and many school teams have won local, provincial and national championships.
Four sports academies – Soccer, Ice Hockey, Volleyball, Lacrosse – accept students wishing to train with professional coaches while studying at high school.
